Description
• Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Corporate Counsel will work closely with the CFO and Divisional Heads of three Canadian Divisions and two US Divisions. • Focus on corporate governance, employment law, health and safety, environmental law, real estate matters and resolution of disputes and claims. • You bring sound judgment, problem solving and negotiation experience.
Requirements
• Member in good standing of provincial bar • Undergraduate degree in business is an asset • 3 to 6 years experience in corporate commercial and/or securities practice • Well organized, excellent drafting skills • Strong understanding of public company legal requirements • Business and legal experience in wholesale distribution, building materials and forestry will be considered an asset. • Experience gained from a broad range of commercial transactions. • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written • Excellent organizational skills • Self starter, works well independently or in a team as required
