• In this role, the incumbent will issue recommendations and have influence on the system verification and validation of the Telesat Lightspeed system • Develop system and sub system verification matrices against system requirements • Coordinate and participate in system level testing activities including test planning, execution and reporting • Serve as a SATCOM SME and support other technical staff as required • Develop/maintain test cases, test beds required for various Test cases. • Hands on testing in the Leo Lab for various data path and routing features. • Work with other segments like DevOps, Ground Systems, Satellite and foster a collaborative and innovative environment. • Plays an active role in component and subsystem design and test activities • Configuring test equipment like Satellite Link Emulators, signal generator, spectrum analyzer and traffic generators. • Ensure product under test meets technical, functional, performance and business requirements. • Work with partners and other vendors in various test campaigns.
• B. Sc. in Electrical, Computer or System Engineering and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in satellite communications • Strong exposure to modulation and coding used in modern satellite communication standards like DVB-S2X, TDMA, DVB-RCS2, etc. • Strong Understanding of Linux, IP and Routing Protocols. • Demonstrated understanding of air interfaces, modem technologies, modulation and coding and its impact on the satellite link performance • Experience in test case and defect tracking tools (Jira, Jama) • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with management, engineering teams and partners / suppliers. • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies. • Experience working with geographically dispersed teams.
