Description
• The Canadian Press is looking for a Data Analyst for a 6-month contract to join our Content Operations team in our Toronto office. • Reporting to the Associate Director, Content Operations, the core responsibilities of the position will center on developing analytical tools and processes to gain insight into our news content. • As a content analyst you will apply your knowledge of data analysis and presentation to our newsroom output. • You will work closely with all departments that touch content (news, IT, sales and marketing) and help CP to gain insight into our products and services. • As a content analyst with digital supply-chain experience, you will monitor production systems and content feeds to ensure efficient delivery to customers. • Ensure that the CP wire and digital feeds to all business partners for articles, images, audio, video, and other digital assets are working properly. • Work with clients to optimize and troubleshoot content delivery as needed. • Monitor and troubleshoot categorization and other metadata issues by running APIs and following content through the digital supply chain. • Analyze how each of our products could take optimal advantage of metadata in consultation with stakeholders in the newsroom and on the sales and marketing team. • Build and monitor dashboards related to content production and distribution.
Requirements
• Female • 30 years of age or under at the start date • a recent post-secondary graduate • be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident of Canada or person who has been granted refugee status in Canada (applicants on work permits or student visas are ineligible) • not in receipt of Employment Insurance (EI) benefits (you will have withdrawn from EI benefits prior to the start date)
