Description

• Plan, organize and lead a group of children in a group setting • Ensure that you are creating a safe and enjoyable environment for participants • Create and facilitate fun, creative and inclusive activities for all participants • Ensure that all equipment and supplies are in safe working condition • Complete appropriate administrative tasks in a timely manner (ie attendances and head counts) • Developing and planning programs for children between the ages of 4 and 12 years • Ensuring programs are safe, age-appropriate, non-competitive, inclusive, innovative and skilled-based in nature • Help to ensure the safety and security of the members and assist in responding to critical incidents as outlined in the Club’s policies and procedures • Maintain Health & Safety standards in accordance to the Club’s Covid-19 Safety Protocols • Participate in staff training and orientation sessions • Ensure the safety and supervision of participants at all times by strictly following guidelines and procedures (ie headcounts) • Dealing with conflicts and behavior management immediately using corrective techniques as discussed in training • Report to and takes direction from Program Manager and Supervisors • Do other related tasks as assigned • Maintain professional relationships with peers, members, volunteers, parents and other Club members.

Requirements

• Educational background applicable to the position • Experience working with children 4 to 12 years old • Strong skills in one or more of the following areas: sports, arts, swimming, recreation, education, health and nutrition • Ability to work as team members in a dynamic, complex environment • Strong supervision and program planning skills • Good decision making and problem solving skills • Covid-19 Vaccination Required • Current Standard First Aid and CPR-C certification • Police Reference Check (to be completed upon hiring) • HIGH FIVE- Principles of Healthy Child Development training
