• Provides residential services and programs for youth aged 12-17 in the Youth Justice Residence • Involves client supervision, support, ongoing life skills training, safety, security, and crisis management • Shift work requires flexibility for 7-day, 24-hour coverage
• Post-Secondary diploma/degree in the Social Services field, e.g., Child and Youth Worker, Youth Justice • Valid First Aid and CPI certifications • At least one (1) year of recent work experience in services/programs for males aged 12-17 • Working knowledge of the Social and Criminal Justice systems and community resources • Knowledge of relevant counselling practices and effective counselling skills • Adept at using a computer and MS Word Suite • Proven group facilitation skills • Skills in counselling, teaching, group and individual facilitation, and conflict resolution • Assessment skills for service delivery and daily operational issues • Effective crisis intervention skills • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English • Identifying and handling confidential materials • Use of conflict resolution and crisis intervention tools • Valid Driver’s License or G1 with commitment to achieving G-2 or G-full
