• Providing efficient supervision and supporting assigned locations. • Preparing reports for all incidents, complaints, or deficiencies discovered that affect the delivery of service to our clients. • Inspecting all posts regularly and coordinating break relief functions for all assigned locations. • Ensuring all guards are dressed in appropriate uniform and equipped to perform their designated functions safely and efficiently. • Compiling Daily Summary Reports from guards and submitting to the Manager for review. • Inspecting all posts regularly and testing site staff on their knowledge of the Post Orders and General Orders. • Maintaining effective control for all issued equipment. • Communicating instructions from Head Office to all security staff. • Training new security and traffic control staff on-site and sharing their performance with the Operations Manager. • Making recommendations for improvement that will increase the effectiveness or benefit the service delivery to our clients. • Performing emergency response duties as per the Emergency Response Manual. • Directing the day-to-day operations. • Acting as the point of contact for security personnel during emergency operations. • Monitoring, evaluating, and coaching employees performing their regular duties. • Ensuring that Security Occurrence Reports are written by security guards for incidents that happen at the Airport, reviewing these reports for completeness and accuracy and providing these reports to the AOCC within 24 hours for inclusion in PortsToronto’s Records Management System. • Carrying and operating portable radios to communicate with the Airport Operations Communication Center Guards. • Any other duties as assigned.
• Minimum High School diploma or Grade 12 education. • Minimum of two (2) years of employment with A.S.P. incorporated or four (4) years of security supervisory related experience. • Eligible to work in Canada. • Ability to obtain an AVOP (Airside Vehicle Operating Permit) is mandatory. • Ability to obtain a RAIC (Restricted Access Identification Card) is mandatory. • Comprehensive knowledge of common security policies and various related Acts, Codes and legislation, including the Criminal Code, the PSISA, the Trespass to Property Act, the Fire Code, AODA, and WHMIS. • Must possess a valid security license, Driver’s License (G or higher) with a clean driving abstract, Standard First Aid & CPR certification, and willing to provide Criminal Record check upon request. • Excellent written & verbal communication, and active listening skills. • Able to work on nights, weekends, weekdays, and holidays.
