• Design, develop, validate, and build various prototypes and commercially-ready devices • Evaluate the devices by designing and building test platforms for evaluating both individual components and whole systems • Collaborate closely with the development team to identify and scrutinize complex hardware, software, and system-level requirements • Develop, execute, and document detailed performance studies to evaluate functionality, reliability, and safety of medical devices • Use exploratory test techniques to provide early feedback throughout the design process • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine and improve product testing
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in biomedical / mechanical engineering, or related fields • 3+ years of experience in systems testing, product development, prototyping, or design, ideally within a startup or fast-paced research environment • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment, where creativity, flexibility, and a proactive mindset are key • Experience with dev/eval boards and rapid testing and evaluation of subsystems and parts for the design of electrical and mechanical systems • Strong analytical skills, leveraging advanced characterization techniques (e.g., FTIR spectroscopy, Mass spectrometry) • Proficiency with test equipment such as oscilloscope, logic analyzer, and other specialized test equipment • Excel in processing and analyzing large datasets using statistical software packages (e.g. Python), with a passion for data visualization tools • Experience working under a quality management system (QMS), drafting technical documentation for a design history file (DHF), and knowledge of QMS standards • Independent, self-starter with good interpersonal skills and excellent attention to detail
