• Assist the Finance team with quarterly and annual reporting • Assist with the preparation of quarterly consolidation reports • Assist with the preparation of lead sheets and working papers and assist external auditors for quarterly reviews and year-end audit • Assist Controller with the supervision and review of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes • Assist the Controller in the month-end and quarter-end closing process, including but not limited to: Preparation of the monthly payroll cost allocation journal • Preparation of monthly journal entries • Preparation of bank reconciliations • Maintain the fixed asset sub-ledger • Preparation of GST/HST/PST calculations and filings • Preparation of monthly reporting for parent company • Preparation of revenue recognition entries • Review of bi-monthly payroll • Assist the VP, Finance with preparation of corporate T2 tax returns and Notice to Readers for all corporate entities • Additional duties and special projects as requested • Ensure Statistics Canada surveys are completed on a timely basis
• Accounting Designation; CPA • Strong knowledge of US GAAP is an asset • Proficiency with MS Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, etc…) • Experience with corporate tax return filings is an asset • Ideal for a newly certified CPA with 3-4 years of public practice experience or industry equivalent • Professional written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills • Ability to research and report on relevant accounting issues and/or changes • Ability to work with tight time frames while simultaneously managing several projects • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections • Develops new initiatives and workflows to improve processes • Encourages open communication between the team and other departments • Previous experience using SAGE Intacct software is an asset
