Description
• Develop and implement a comprehensive QA strategy aligned with business goals • Foster a culture of continuous quality improvement and collaboration • Establish quality metrics and KPIs to monitor and improve the QA process • Initially, as our sole quality engineer, guide the engineering team in standard practices for automation test writing and implementation • Oversee all aspects of quality assurance including establishing metrics, applying industry best practices, and developing new tools and processes to ensure quality goals are met • Own and enhance automated testing frameworks, ensuring scalability and maintainability • Manage manual testing processes, ensuring thorough coverage and accurate reporting of software defects • Manage relationships with contractors and consultants as needed • Collaborate closely with development, product management, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage • Advocate for quality throughout the software development lifecycle, promoting best practices and a user-centric approach • Communicate testing results, quality metrics, and project status to stakeholders and senior management • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in QA methodologies, tools, and technologies • Identify and implement opportunities for process automation to improve efficiency and effectiveness
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or comparable work experience and training • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality assurance, with at least 2 years in a leadership role • Proven experience in both automated and manual testing within a SaaS environment, in web and mobile • Demonstrated understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes • Proficiency with automated testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Ruby rspec, Selenium, Jest, JMeter) • Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Benefits
• The compensation range for this role is between $100,000 - $120,000 CAD per year • Evaluation of the offer for the successful candidate will be based on relevant experience • This role would be eligible to participate in the Employee Stock Option Plan
