• Problem Solving: Understand business objectives to solve highly abstract problems and uncover unidentified ones. • Connect and lead teams in executing solutions end-to-end. • Apply strategic thinking not just in execution but to shape how teams approach new problems. • Driving User-Centricity: Make and communicate comprehensive design strategies based on quantitative and qualitative data and work in partnership with product managers to lead the problem definition. • Facilitates journey mapping and introduces design thinking methods to influence cross-functional teams and advocate for the user. • Embedding Systems Thinking: Develop a masterful understanding of design system principles (and the current state of design within the industry) within your team. • Lead a team in defining discovery existing system libraries as well as evolving components for user and industry relevancy. • Create prototypes or support the team to do so. • Coaching and Management: Oversee the completion of projects, establish processes to improve efficiency, nurture key relationships within the company, and provide mentorship to your team. • Supervises contributors on projects and manages the workload and backlog across the team. • Energizes and inspires the team.
• 2+ years of industry experience in a people management role on a Design team, experience in matrix organizations a plus. • A design-thinking education (Bachelor of Design, or Visual Arts, or Architecture, or Industrial Design, or Communication) • An acute self-awareness and deep empathy - for both the customer and your team’s goals. • A tenured, evolutionary perspective on technology, product, and design practices • Applied experience with service design practices and a practice of constantly evolving your design process. • An appetite (and the skill) for working across all digital and physical manifestations of what we design. • A passion for mentoring executives, product managers, and engineers to deliver user-centered solutions. • Excellent communication and data visualization skills. You can bring internal stakeholders on your design journey and support your decisions with focus and brevity. • A deep curiosity and ability to consider product strategy and vision. You don’t just care about “how it looks,” or “what we should design,” but “why are we designing this at all?” • Experience design sprint methodologies, tools, and processes and the JIRA platform • Fluency with product, design, and prototyping tools such as Figma, Google Suite, Miro
