Description
• The Senior Director, Tax Strategy plays a critical role in the Bank’s Accounting and Finance Department• Responsible for tax planning/tax strategy efforts of EQB Inc and its subsidiaries• Oversee activities related to corporate tax, commodity tax, capital tax, and international taxation• Manage and coordinate SR&ED claims, tax filings, remittances, and financial statement notes• Educate internal stakeholders on tax matters, resolve issues, and identify process improvements• Lead tax-related reporting, projects, and digitalization efforts• Respond to tax notices, audits, and provide taxation advisory support to business units
Requirements
• Completion of a recognized accounting designation: CPA, CA; CPA, CGA; or CPA, CMA or a legal degree (JD or LLB)• In-depth knowledge of Canadian taxation through specialized education or work experience• 10-15 years of relevant experience, including 5+ years in tax planning/strategy• Proven success as a finance leader in financial services• Strong organizational, communication, presentation, and leadership skills
