Description

• Responsible for the design and field review of buildings, underground infrastructure, and bridge structures • Provide site support during construction and work directly with contractors

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering preferred • 8+ years of relevant experience, with a professional engineering designation • Professional Engineer licensed to practice in the province of Ontario (PEO) • Professional Engineer licensed to practice in the province of Quebec (OIQ) is preferred • Experience in design of temporary structures and construction engineering • Familiar with cut-and-cover structures, temporary shoring, utility relocation, construction stagging analysis • Familiarity with MTO procedures • Experience in bridge design and/or construction engineering for bridges • Experience on site and working with contractors preferred • Demonstrated understanding of engineering theories and principles • Able to communicate ideas and recommendations in a clear manner, listen effectively and adopt and integrate ideas from other team members, including clients and contractors • Ability to manage and deliver multiple projects on time • Ability to work on both small and large projects of varying durations • Ability to explain designs and to work with others to develop the optimal design for the available resources
