Description

• Oversee various aspects of financial management, including regulatory and financial reporting, treasury management, financial operations, internal controls, sales tax compliance, cross border transactions, plus tax credits and compliance processes. • Define how accounting standards and interpretations can be implemented into day to day processes to serve timely and accurate preparation of financial statements. • Manage all financial operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, outsourced payroll, Treasury Management, and Revenue Recognition. • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls. • Optimize the design of internal controls and operationalize them in Cinchy. • Assist and serve as coverage to the Director of Strategic Finance in preparation of the budget, financial forecasts, operational and investor reporting. • Support month-end, quarter end, and year-end close processes for the US and Canadian Entities. Manage audits, tax returns, and other related processes. • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings. Assist with obtaining relevant tax credits in all jurisdictions. • Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to the executive team to support decision-making.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred. • Proven working experience as a Controller or similar role, preferably in a tech or SaaS company. • Knowledge of cross border tax issues (an asset), SRED, and managing audits • Understands the power of process documentation to drive clarity and efficiency • Extremely detail oriented and highly invested in preventing reporting and other errors. • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures. • Experience with creating financial statements and Board/Investor level analysis/summaries. • Excel/sheets master with additional skills using databases to serve advanced and highly efficient reporting. • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process. • Strong analytical skills; attention to detail is your superpower. • Exceptional leadership and communication skills. • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
